Job Description:Senior BMS/EPMS Engineer / Full-Time Permanent
About the Role – Senior BMS/EPMS Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with demonstrable knowledge of HVAC Control Applications, Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management Systems to join our team.
Seeking a Senior BMS/EPMS Engineer experienced in the consultancy, design and construction of Data Centre and Mission Critical Facilities to become part of our Controls team. The successful candidate will lead control workgroups with representatives from the Client and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills and a strong background in all aspects of Building Automation & Power monitoring. A thorough understanding of mechanical systems, electrical power distribution and networking associated with BMS/EPMS systems is essential. This person shall be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills and be a self-starter.
Responsibilities
Lead new project control engineering design, quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, evaluation of product reliability, automated testing, software, research and development.
This position will be responsible for controls systems strategies, design, specifications & preparation of drawings.
Ensuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standards.
Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines.
Drive project schedules while working closely with other disciplines to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track.
Work simultaneously on multiple projects, in a team or independently with little to no oversight.
Work closely with clients and subcontractors to provide support and technical guidance in BMS/EPMS design.
Candidate Attributes
Extensive experience in construction/engineering/operation of hyper-scale data centres or similar large-scale and complex engineering systems (Pharmaceutical, Micro Electronics are two examples of relevant industries).
In-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring Systems (BCMS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Technical understanding of mission-critical environments.
In-depth knowledge of open BAS protocols and communications - BACnet, LON, MODBUS, Ethernet, Web-Services, HTML, and others.
Strong experience with the operation and maintenance of building cooling and related mechanical systems (HVAC, Chilled Water, DX Refrigerant, Evaporative, and related control systems).
·In-depth knowledge of server platforms, virtualization theories and concepts, database design and engineering, data management and disaster recovery/planning/risk assessment.
Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and documents is essential.
Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems/schematics
Must possess strong leadership competencies and willingness to collaborate and work cross-functionally to maximize business results and positive customer experiences.
Experience managing both internal and external vendors and consultants, with a proven ability to manage and monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved for outsourced project efforts.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills at varying levels of business up to and including business executives.
Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Ability to lead a team of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data centre environments.
Extensive experience and ability to work on Design & Build (D&B) and Design Bid Build (DBB) projects.
Key Knowledge
Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and documents is essential.
