Keppel DC REIT Ireland is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety, and Security Executive (EHSSE) to oversee security operations and ensure compliance with EHS standards across two data centres. In this critical role, you will ensure our policies, standards, procedures, and legislative requirements are implemented effectively, fostering a safe and secure environment that aligns with organizational and contractual obligations.
DUTIES:
Environmental, Health & Safety
• Ensure compliance with group, client and local health and safety legislation.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and audits.
• Deliver training programs for employees and contractors, including electrical safety, emergency response, ergonomics, and confined
spaces.
• Present Quarterly H&S Toolbox Talks to all staff
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and system failures; implement corrective actions.
• Monitor all contractors and staff for EHS compliance.
• Implement initiatives to reduce environmental impacts, such as energy efficiency, waste management and water conservation programs.
• Develop and test emergency response and business continuity plans, focusing on fire suppression systems, critical system failures, andevacuation procedures.
• Monitor energy usage and emissions to ensure alignment with corporate and national sustainability goals.
• Work with the Compliance Manager to maintain the current ISO 45001 Standard.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS standards.
-Security Management
• Oversee the security team and manage the security service contract.
• Ensure efficient operations, including access control, CCTV monitoring, and incident response.
• Conduct regular service reviews and implement improvements to security systems and processes.
• Maintain compliance with security standards, SLAs and KPIs.
• Manage vendor relationships, including Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Coordinate annual security penetration tests and implement corrective measures.
General Responsibilities
• Promote a culture of EHS and security awareness across the organization
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
• Prepare and present regular EHS and security performance reports to senior management.
• Plan and execute emergency preparedness training and drills.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, training, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Assist
• Assist the Compliance and Customer Services Manager with client EHS and security matters / queries.
• Work with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors on compliance and certification matters.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to Keppel Head Office and regulatory bodies as required.
• Collaborate with facilities management, IT operations, and external contractors to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into all
projects and maintenance activities.
CERM Management:
• Play an active role on the Change Management Board.
Budgets:
• Provide input for site budget proposals and ensure adherence to expenditure controls.
Reporting and KPIs:
• Ensure site key performance indicators are agreed, managed, and achieved per your line manager.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and industry-specific safety practices.
• Familiarity with critical infrastructure systems (e.g., power distribution, cooling systems).
• Ability to design and deliver effective training programs and EHS presentations.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Calm under pressure and responsive in emergencies.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail.
WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIREMENTS
• Health and Safety Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in EHS preferably in a critical environment such as a Data Center or a critical infrastructure
environment
• Experience of working with multidiscipline teams
• Experience of dealing with challenging and difficult circumstances
• 3rd party vendor management
• Experience of implementing cost controls
• Up to date with EHS and PSSA legislation
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
