Host in Ireland, in collaboration with Bitpower and partly-funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), has released a report examining the Irish digital hosting industry, the region’s data centres, and highlighting the benefits and opportunities of Ireland’s thriving digital economy. In a survey of colocation providers about why they choose to locate in Ireland and specifically Dublin, participants cited off-island fibre connectivity and the T50 diverse Dublin fibre ring, power availability and reliability, political stability, open and transparent planning, and an educated and native English-speaking workforce. When compared to other European cities, another key advantage of Dublin is the proximity of colocation providers to Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. Ireland’s combination of colocation and hyperscale data centre facilities is unique in Europe. To view the case study in its entirety, please click here.
